TEACHING BEGINNERS
I teach beginning flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone (euphonium), and tuba. In lessons we use the method books and resources students are using in their school band class. I help give students the proper foundations for continued success.
TEACHING INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
For students wanting to go to the next level or achieve a particular goal, I will help them navigate the process. Using creative strategies and a variety resources, I help them achieve their goals.
PREPARING FOR SOLO/ENSEMBLE AND AUDITIONS
I help students prepare for solo and ensemble festivals, as well as auditions. I help students understand the music they are preparing so that they become better and more confident musicians.
TEACHING COMPOSITION
As a published composer, former music editor for a major music publisher, accomplished arranger and orchestrator, I offer unique insights into the composition process. Students who study composition with me will learn to hone their skills in order to consistently compose good and strongly crafted original music.
